“Glückauf” to the new trainees!

170 young people start their career at K+S

About 170 young people have begun their training at the K+S Group’s sites in these days. Whether mining technologist, chemical worker or electronics technician: at K+S all possibilities are open to trainees for a diversified career in an international company.

“We welcome all our new apprentices”, says Dr. Thomas Nöcker, Board Member responsible for Human Resources at K+S Aktiengesellschaft. “Our employees are our most valuable asset. Our success is based essentially on their commitment. We want to support each single trainee in developing their potential as best as possible.”

With 85 apprentices, this training year too most of the young people at K+S are gaining access to the job market in the Werra potash plant in East Hesse / West Thuringia. 41 young professionals have started work at the Zielitz potash plant (Saxony-Anhalt), while 16 trainees are being trained at the Neuhof-Ellers potash site (near Fulda). New trainees have also started work at the Sigmundshall plant near Hanover and at the three salt sites of Borth (North Rhine-Westphalia), Braunschweig-Lüneburg (Lower Saxony) and Bernburg (Saxony-Anhalt). At the K+S head office in Kassel, eight trainees have begun dual training in the commercial sector this year.

Applications for 2018 welcome as of now

K+S offers varied training positions with multiple tasks above and below ground. Those wishing to start training at K+S in the late summer of 2018 can send their applications to individual sites now. “Good educational qualifications, an enthusiasm for technology and a healthy team spirit are the optimal prerequisites for being trained at K+S,” says Joachim Hüttenrauch, Head of Human Resources and therefore responsible for German training sites at K+S. “We are also particularly pleased with applications from women who are keen on technical skilled occupations.”

On a national German scale, K+S provides training at 10 sites in 16 occupations in the mining, technology and chemistry sectors, as well as in commercial occupations. Training places are still available at many of the sites. Vacancies as well as further information about skilled occupations can be found on the career pages of the website.

High hiring rate and unlimited hiring

The chances of being hired after completing training are traditionally very high at K+S. Given professional and personal suitability, trainees receive a guarantee of being hired and a stable employment contract after they complete their training. In 2016, K+S hired a total of 91 % of its trainees.

Apart from attractive training positions, K+S also offers commercial and technical trainee programs for university graduates, as well as internships. Specialists and managers who have already been employed also find new challenges and experiences in the K+S Group to forge ahead with their careers. K+S collects several awards as attractive employer

In April 2017, business magazine Focus Money awarded K+S subsidiary K+S KALI GmbH the Germany’s best traineeship enterprises in 2017 quality seal. In August 2017, Focus Money and the magazine Focus also additionally awarded K+S AG two Deutschlandtest seals of approval concerning “Outstanding Career Opportunities for University Graduates” and “Outstanding Career Opportunities for Engineers”. Having been awarded the “MINT Minded Company” title in 2015 and 2016 in connection with the MINT Zukunft schaffen [MINT Creating the Future] initiative (MINT = mathematics, IT, natural sciences, technology), K+S AG has once again been awarded the title this year.
