Lothar Armbrust - Head of electrical engineering thanks to continuing education
I already began working for K+S at the age of sixteen, when I trained to become an energy
facility electrical expert at the Werra plant. After working as an electrician for one year, I
decided to study electrical engineering at the Fachhochschule Gießen and returned to Kassel as an
electrical engineer in 1993.

Markus Bock - complex fertilizer product manager
After already completing my training as an industrial clerk at the Werra plant of K+S KALI GmbH,
the path that I took led me back to K+S after studying business administration at the
Fachhochschule Fulda. Working in the central controlling specialist unit at Kassel, I developed
controlling instruments and the knowledge that I had acquired during my studies proved to be very
useful.

Dr. Franz-Georg Loth – Head of Sales with International Experience
After completing two degrees (business administration/agricultural science), I joined the K+S
Group in 1994. Initially, I spent two years working in fertilizer sales Germany and then switched
to product marketing at K+S KALI GmbH. My responsibilities included the marketing of our special
fertilizers followed by the coordination of our Thomaskali product.

Mathias Wellert - IT and electrical engineering purchasing
In August 2002, I began my dual training to obtain the degree of Diplom-Betriebwirt (BA) at K+S
Aktiengesellschaft in Kassel. While training as an industrial clerk, I worked in various
departments and completed a three-year course of weekend and evening study.

Karin Wiegand – Rising IT Standards Mean New Challenges
After completing my training as an assistant specialising in mathematics and technical matters
at Wintershall AG, I began working at K+S in 1990 as a programmer at the Werra valley Wintershall
site in Heringen. The end of mainframe computers and the increased use of personal computers
resulted in a greater demand for on-site technical assistance in the 1990s.

Thomas Wolperding – A Third Generation Mining Engineer
After completing secondary school and military service, I finished a course of practical study
in mining under the auspices of the state mining agency in 1979 and began studying at the Clausthal
Technical University in 1980. During my studies, I spent vacations working in a number of
mining-related fields in Germany and the United States.

Johannes Zapp - Head of production at K+S KALI GmbH
I began my career with K+S in 1988 immediately after completing my degree in mining engineering
at the TH Aachen. I spent one year at each of the Neuhof-Ellers, Werra and Sigmundshall plants as a
pit foreman, before taking up the position of mining operations assistant at Sigmundshall.
