
BASF SE holds about 10% of our shares; MCC Holding Limited (Linea Ltd.), an investment vehicle of Andrey Melnichenko, which is also invested in the Russian agrochemical enterprise EuroChem, holds 10.43% of our shares.
Notifications of voting rights published in 2008
According to the freefloat definition of Deutsche Börse AG, the freefloat of K+S AG amounts to a good 79%. Before the Annual General Meeting 2008, an external service provider conducted a shareholder identification and presented the following results: 19% of the outstanding shares are held by German institutional investors, 42% by foreign institutions. Furthermore, we assume that almost 20% of our shares are held by mainly domestic private investors. This portion comprises by guess approx. 1% of the outstanding shares held by K+S employees.
From a geographic point of view, approximately 50% of our outstanding shares are held in Germany, comprising the permanent holdings of BASF SE, holdings of German institutional inverstors and of K+S employees and assuming that private investors are domestic only. Worldwide institutional investors structures as follows: 22.5% of the outstanding shares are held in the the USA and in Canada, another 12% in UK and Ireland. 10.4% are owned by MCC Holding Limited (Linea Ltd.), an investment vehicle of Andrey Melnichenko, which is also invested in the Russian agrochemical enterprise EuroChem. Above all 3.6% of the shares are located in France.
