Our Fields of Action

In 2010, we defined our main fields of action for sustainable development in an internal materiality analysis, examined them to identify opportunities and risks, and analysed the expectations of our stakeholders and our possibilities of influencing them.

Our fields of action are derived from our vision, mission and strategy, from global megatrends and from management themes. We receive specific indications from our employees, customers, the authorities and NGOs as well as from our association work regarding what is expected from us as a globally operating commodities company. Our own analyses complement this picture.

For us, a field of action is a key one if the following criteria are fulfilled:

  • it currently influences our corporate actions to a high degree or will do so in the future, and
  • it is important for our stakeholders, and
  • we are in a position to influence it.
