Through K+S Nitrogen, the Nitrogen Fertilizers business segment concentrates on the marketing of nitrogenous fertilizers with a clear focus on bulk customers in agriculture and in special crops.
K+S Nitrogen markets a whole range of nitrogenous fertilizers
Alongside fertilizers produced exclusively by BASF, K+S Nitrogen also offers goods from other reputable European suppliers. Every year, the business segment supplies up to five million tonnes of fertilizers to 60 countries all over the world.
COMPO disposed
After the examination of a disposal of COMPO had already been initiated in June 2010, in the second half of 2010, K+S worked out and implemented a concept for a company-law and corporate carve-out of COMPO from the K+S Group. At the start of 2011, contact was made with potential interested parties. The disposal of COMPO to the European private equity investor Triton was successfully completed on 17 October 2011. Since then, COMPO has no longer been part of the Nitrogen Fertilizers business segment and is stated as a “discontinued operation” in accordance with IFRS.
